Green Party of New York Wages Write-In Campaign for Voter Choice and Ballot Status
As Election Day approaches, New York has a rather dubious distinction. It is the only state in the country in which Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are the only presidential choices voters have listed on their ballots. Anyone wanting to choose other candidates will have to write in those names.

Mass. Green-Rainbow party members talk about their goals for the election
With one week until the election, the presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump is close. Consequently, eyes are turning towards third-party voters.
Some have criticized third-party candidates, like the Green Party's Jill Stein, for potentially pulling voters away from the Democratic ticket and swaying the vote in favor of Trump. But many third-party voters say the major party candidates hold views that they cannot support.

The ‘Genocide-for-Groceries’ Candidate
This week, Kamala Harris said she knows about voter revulsion over the Israeli genocide in Palestine. But people better vote for her anyway if they want abortions and affordable groceries.
An extraordinary moment occurred on the CNN “town hall” with Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday. Asked by an audience member what she would do to end the slaughter of Palestinians by U.S.-sponsored bombs, Harris delivered her usual canned answer about how “far too many” Palestinians have died and the need for a two-state solution, after which host Anderson Cooper asked a follow-up question.

Green Party View – A write-in vote for Jill Stein is a vote for democracy
Shamefully, in New York it is the case that we are the only State, Commonwealth, or Territory of the United States to have only two candidates for President on the ballot. This is a result of changes to our electoral laws spearheaded by the so-called “Democratic” Party, in which ballot access for independent candidates was made nearly impossible by *tripling* the number of voters’ signatures that are required, and by establishing an unreasonably compressed time frame in which to collect these signatures.

News At Howard University, A Soft Call For The Green Party

A long-term advocate for environmental sustainability and social justice, Stein has struggled to gain mainstream recognition in a political landscape dominated by two major political parties.
As the 2024 Nov. 5 presidential election approaches, some Howard students expressed both support for her vision and frustration over the barriers that keep third-party candidates like Stein from breaking into the national political area.

‘It Smells Like a Rat’: The Nasty Feud That Could Flip Wisconsin
MADISON, Wisconsin — On an oppressively hot August day in downtown Madison, the signs of this famously liberal city’s progressive activism are everywhere. Buildings are draped in pride flags and Black Lives Matter signs are prominently displayed on storefronts. A musty bookstore advertises revolutionary titles and newspaper clippings of rallies against Donald Trump. A fancy restaurant features a graphic of a raised Black fist in its window, with chalk outside on the sidewalk reading “solidarity forever.”

Democrats move to block third parties from the ballot
The heart of the Democrats’ campaign for president this year is their full-throated attack on Donald Trump as a dictatorial ultrarightist. The Washington Post headlined Catherine Rampell’s Sept. 24 column, “Don’t scoff at the Hitler comparisons. Trump’s rhetoric is that bad.” Democrats claim no less than “democracy is on the ballot” in 2024.

Congressional Bill for Ranked Choice Voting Would Outlaw Top-Two Systems
A bill to require ranked choice voting for all congressional primary and general elections has been introduced in both houses of Congress. The U.S. Senate sponsor is Peter Welch (D-Vermont). The two chief sponsors in the House are Jaime Raskin (D-Maryland) and Don Beyer (D-Virginia).
It would require ranked choice voting in both primaries and general elections, so that the current top-two systems in California and Washington would need to be revised. Furthermore, it says that if a state uses systems without party nominees, at least three candidates must be allowed to advance to the general election.
