New Group!
Greater Houston Greens
Our newest 3rd coast affiliate is made of Greens from the counties of Harris, Montgomery, Liberty, Chambers, Galveston, Brazoria, Fort Bend, & Waller. If you’re in one of those counties, please get involved! There’s lots of work to be done & we’ve got candidates to support & races to run, so it’s all hands on deck!
We’re making adjustments to the website, but for now, if you live in any of those places, please head to this page to add their hosted & endorsed events to your calendar: https://www.txgreens.org/greater_houston_greens_event_calendar
If you are willing to take on the role of a serious Green candidate in 2026, please review our prepared information. Not sure what you could run for? This page details different county positions: https://www.county.org/resources/resource-library/education-and-training/duties-texas-county-officials
Alternatively, you may consider volunteering as a campaign manager or treasurer. Keep an eye out for possible candidates; we’re all recruiters. Either way, GPTX needs members to become involved in developing our slate of candidates for 2026.
Very important: GPTX needs money!
We operate on a shoestring (we’re all volunteers), and we hate to ask, BUT, with your financial support we could:
- Have signs, banners, & billboards in 2026!
- Reimburse filing fees to the campaigns of nominated candidates
- Maintain & improve our operations
Can you help us grow the Green Party in Texas by making a donation today? Please do!
The rest of the email can wait: https://www.txgreens.org/donate
Green Education, Onboarding, Discussion, & Encouragement: G.E.O.D.E.
The next statewide call for everybody is on September 14th, & it should be pretty interesting!
Orlando, from our Californian counterpart, will be speaking about public banking & local currency. Don’t know what that is? Please attend! Are you familiar with it? You could probably ask some good questions! Either way, we hope to see you there. We also want to hear the good news from your part of Texas.
RSVP & see connection info here:
https://www.txgreens.org/statewide_zoom_call_20250914
These calls happen on the 2nd Sunday of every month at 4pm. The purpose is to educate Texans on Green policy, procedures, political theory & important issues relevant to life in the greatest state there is. We aim to keep them positive & solution-focused. If there's a particular topic you'd like to discuss in a future meeting, or something you’d like to know more about, let us know.
Action Highlight - Fight Death Row
Texas still employs the primitive & cruel practice of capital punishment. Help us fight it.

Committee Updates
National Steering Committee
If you follow us on social media, you’ve probably seen Arshia Papari speaking up for us deep in the heart of Texas. Just a few weeks ago, Arshia was elected to the Steering Committee of The Green Party of the United States! Wow!
SEC
DFW MVP volunteer, Dr. Ali Anwar has joined our State Executive Committee by unanimous approval of the SEC. This appointment will be up for approval of the voting body at our Autumn State Meeting.
Standing Committees
Several seats are unfilled on the national standing committees.
The SEC can approve appointments at any time, if you’re interested in serving in one of these positions, or would like to help with a smaller project, tell us at [email protected].
Writers, Visual / Graphic Artists, & Social Media Folks
Our social media team has been meeting on Tuesdays at 6:30pm. We’d love to have your help, so if you can make videos, design graphics that people will want to read, write text for those, speak to a camera, or you just want to help out - join the call! Details are posted in our groups on WhatsApp, Slack, Instagram, etc. Message us to join those.
And we still haven’t completed our content calendar. If you have a little free time to research a month or just a week or two for significant holidays or anniversaries, so we have a backup topic for each day, email [email protected] to help out. There are hundreds of days in the year, but the more help we have, the easier it'll be.
Register Some Voters!
Help eliminate a barrier to voting by getting people to register. Head to this site for more info on how that's done:

Group Highlight: Robert E Lee Apartments Tenant Union in San Antonio
They recently organized to stop a billionaire developer from buying their building and were successful! A nonprofit that is associated with the city of San Antonio was able to buy the building which means that the current tenants won't be displaced and won't see massive rent increases. Also the main organizer voted Green last year <3

Statement from Megan Navarro, the founder of Robert E. Lee Tenant Union: "Don't believe the lies of the establishment. A better world exists beyond the parameters capitalism tells us we must exist. Winning takes moving beyond social media posts and reading theory. It takes boots on the ground and getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. I hated my landlord, and I hate yours too. Reclaim your power. Talk to your neighbors, trust one another, and fight for what's yours. We have nothing to lose but our chains. Patria o Muerte Venceremos. When we organize, we win even against the oligarchy."
She voted Green and said that the tenant union is anti-genocide and it's not negotiable
If you know other organizations that are putting our 10 key values in action, send us the info so we can get the word out.
