Johnson County Green Party Business Meeting - Minutes

Members discussed plans for outreach and getting more members involved. Plans are for a mailing which will include a brief newsletter and questionnaire asking for feedback on issues members feel are important and where they may want to get involved. This will be mailed to people on the "formerly-registered Green" voter list and the Johnson County Green Party announcement listserv, followed by follow-up phone calls.

We reviewed a list of current vacancies on Iowa City Boards and Commissions, and looked over list of boards in Coralville and Johnson County.

Members discussed planning activities that might attract attendance.
Gail suggested a movie night at the public library. Holly has two of the climate crisis videos, and there are other free or inexpensive films. A possibility is to invite a speaker to moderate a discussion after a film (for instance, the Iowa Green Party co-chair and 2006 gubernatorial candidate Wendy Barth has moderated discussions after "The Global Brain" and "The End of Suburbia").

Our next meeting will be sometime in January; date and location to be announced.
